If you’ve read my last couple of blog posts, you’ll already have a good sense of how I approach planning holidays. I talk a lot about how travel should feel, about getting the details right, and about making the whole process calm and enjoyable rather than overwhelming.
But it occurred to me that while I’ve talked about how I work, I haven’t really shared much about how I got here in the first place.
So… hello.
I’m Lisa – the person behind Jet Set with Lisa (and the person who gets a little too excited about a well-planned itinerary!).
Travel has always been more than just going somewhere
Like many people who end up working in travel, my love of it started long before it became my job.
For me, holidays were never just about the destination. They were about the anticipation, the build-up, and that amazing feeling of stepping away from everyday life and into something different.
I’ve always loved that moment when a trip starts to take shape – when an idea becomes a plan, and suddenly there’s something exciting on the horizon.
Over time, I realised something else too: the small details make a huge difference.
The right hotel. The right location. The right flight times. The right balance between exploring and relaxing.
Those little decisions are often what turn a “nice holiday” into a truly memorable one.
Why I started Jet Set with Lisa
When I set up Jet Set with Lisa, my goal was simple.
I wanted to create the kind of travel service I’d want to use myself.
Something personal.
Something thoughtful.
Something where clients felt listened to rather than processed.
The travel world has changed a lot. There are endless booking sites, reviews, comparison tools and inspiration everywhere you look. But what I noticed was that many people still felt overwhelmed by choice.
They didn’t necessarily need more options.
They needed someone to help them make sense of them.
That’s the part I love.
Helping people find their perfect travel vibe
One thing I always say is that no two people want the same thing from a holiday.
Some people want total switch-off mode. Some want adventure and exploring. Some want luxury and calm. Some want a bit of everything.
That’s why I’m passionate about helping people find their perfect travel vibe.
Because the best holidays aren’t always the most expensive ones – they’re the ones that feel right.
If you’ve ever booked something that looked perfect online but didn’t quite hit the mark once you arrived, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
The part of my job I enjoy the most
People sometimes assume the best part of being a travel agent is the destinations.
And yes – discovering beautiful places around the world is definitely a perk.
But the real highlight for me is something much simpler.
It’s when a client comes back and tells me:
“That was exactly what we needed.”
Or when someone says their holiday felt effortless, or that they didn’t have to worry about a thing.
That makes me so happy, because it means the trip delivered what it was meant to deliver.
A break.
A reset.
A memory.
And if I’m being honest, I’m the type of person who will happily triple-check a detail if it means my clients can relax and just look forward to their holiday.
A little bit about how I work
If you choose to plan a trip with me, you’ll probably notice a few things fairly quickly.
I ask questions – quite a few of them.
Not because I’m being nosy (promise!), but because the answers help me understand what will actually work for you. The right pace, the right location, the right style of hotel, and the little things that make a holiday feel special.
My clients also know they can come to me with questions at any stage. You’re never just a booking reference number.
You have one point of contact, someone who knows your trip and genuinely cares about getting it right.
Why personal travel planning still matters to me
At its heart, travel is about people.
It’s about time together, new experiences, rest, celebration, adventure – sometimes all in the same trip.
Being trusted to help plan those moments is something I never take lightly.
That’s why I approach every enquiry with the same mindset: listen first, understand what matters, and then shape a holiday around that.
No two trips are ever quite the same, and that’s exactly how it should be.
So that’s me
A travel planner who believes the best holidays are the ones that feel effortless, thoughtful and just right for the people taking them.
Whether you’ve got a clear plan, or you’re just at the “we really need a break” stage, I’d love to help you shape it into something exciting.
After all, every great holiday starts with a conversation.
